Year In Industry - Technology Change Delivery Pathway 2026

If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree from September 2026, this internship could be for you!

Job Description

Location: Norwich or York
Hours: Full time, Fixed Term Contract
Work type: Hybrid
Salary: £27,750

The opportunity

Curious about the possibilities technology can unlock? At Aviva, technology is at the heart of everything we do: shaping experiences, improving services, and driving meaningful change for our customers and colleagues.

If you enjoy bringing order to complexity, influencing how things are done, and helping ideas turn into action, you’ll feel right at home here. It’s a place for fresh thinking, collaboration, and growth. It’s where your curiosity and passion can lead to real impact.

On a 12-month placement, you’ll get hands-on experience, build skills that set you apart and work with a team that’s passionate about using tech to solve real problems for our customers. You’ll be supported every step of the way by our brilliant Technology and Change community.

And here’s the best part: you don’t need to be a tech expert (or even studying it) to make this opportunity yours. If you’re curious, a big-picture thinker and excited about driving change, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll need to be in your penultimate year of study, on a course that supports a placement year, and we’re also looking for those who are interested in a permanent graduate role starting in September 2028.

And if you need support with your online application or you need to apply another way, we’ve got you covered there, too.  Just reach out to avivaearlycareers@aviva.com.

"It’s a really inclusive, friendly community at Aviva. Everyone’s so welcoming and supportive. I can’t think of a better place to explore the career directions you’re interested in. There’s so much opportunity." – Previous Placement Year Student and Current Graduate

The roles

There are two roles types on offer within our Change Delivery Pathway, based in either Norwich or York: both buzzing places in which to launch your career. We champion hybrid working at Aviva (typically three days in the office and two days from home), so you’ll need to live within commuting distance of the office where your chosen role is based. You’ll get the benefit of spending time with colleagues in real life as well as gaining more work-life balance. Not all role types are available in every location, so when you apply you’ll be able to let us know which roles and which locations you prefer.

Business Analyst (Norwich): you’ll help uncover what customers really need and work with teams to deliver practical solutions. You’ll ask insightful questions and challenge assumptions to identify opportunities for improvement. Whether that’s analysing data, solving problems, maximising opportunities, removing blockers, or shaping smarter ways of working, you’ll play a key role in helping us do things better: for our customers, our business, and your own development.

Project Manager (Norwich or York): If you’re a natural organiser, love to take the lead, and enjoy bringing people together to get stuff done, this could be your kind of role. Our Project Managers are brilliant at planning, but they’re also flexible enough to roll with the changes. You’ll be making things simple, removing blockages and paving the way for successful delivery – inspiring and helping teams deliver great outcomes for our customers, efficiently and effectively.
