Consumer Fragrances Marketing Intern UK

Join us as a Consumer Fragrances (CF) Marketing Intern in our UK CF Sales team, perfect for a university student completing a placement year OR a recent graduate in Marketing or Business Studies, Fashion or similar. In this role, you'll immerse yourself in the fragrance industry, supporting the UK Sales Team with our local Business to Business (B2B) customers in identifying market trends, interpreting consumer insights and data, developing gap analysis, and translating these findings into engaging presentations and innovative concept ideas.  This is a varied and broad role, with the successful candidate demonstrating an aptitude for fast-learning and a common-sense approach. A ‘can-do’ attitude, flexibility, passion, enthusiasm, creativity and ability to work on your own are essential for this role.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities

Assisting the UK Sales Team with:

• Conducting thorough research and analysing evolving fragrance trends
• Collation of cross-category insights – Home Care & Beauty Care
• Translating consumer insights into engaging stories and concepts that resonate with our customer base
• Support sales team in ideation and preparing concepts both pro-actively, and as part of customer brief submissions to meet their requirements
• Reacting promptly to day-to-day customer needs and supporting follow-up after customer meetings
• Filtering and adapting presentations from Global Symrise regions with their direct support to ensure relevance for the UK customers & sales team needs
• Researching and evaluating market data to draw conclusions
• Analyse market & customers’ product portfolios to identify opportunities
• Designing and executing engaging portfolio promotions across various product categories
• Staying abreast of social media trends and sharing actionable insights
• Creating polished presentations and communications that effectively communicate our strengths and resonate with our audiences
• Assisting in planning and executing marketing events that drive brand awareness
• Conducting store audits to capture and analyse on-shelf product data 
• Monitoring competitors' activities and identifying opportunities for Symrise

Performance Indicators

• Meeting the marketing needs of the CF UK Strategy
• Supporting the UK Sales Team in achieving departmental goals and objectives
• Identifying relevant market trends to our business 
• Successfully answering Customer and Sales Team generated briefs

Required Profile

Education

• Ideally pursuing OR recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business Studies, or related fields.

Skills & Attributes

• Passionate about the fragrance and/or Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry
• Trend-savvy with a pulse on TikTok and Instagram
• Strong design sense
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Quick learner, adaptable, and detail-oriented
• Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
• Team Player
• Organised with excellent time management skills
• Understanding of the importance of storytelling in marketing

Additional Requirement

• Must have the right to work in the UK by the start date of employment.
• Possession of a UK driving license is advantageous.
